Born from Katrina, Animal Assistance Team Expands
Donna Monroe Lasser’s project in Landmark’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program helped save thousands of pets in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, as she assembled a team of 81 veterinary professionals to rescue and treat animals there. Since then, the group she founded, Canadian Animal Assistance Team, has assisted animals in 34 locations throughout the world.
