‘Sing Out’ Holds 9th Annual Music Benefit for Rhode Island Hungry

Sing Out Against Hunger just held its 9th Annual fundraiser to benefit Rhode Island food banks - the musical benefit event began as Jane Bitto's project in the Landmark Education SELP course.

The project created by Jane Bitto when she took part in Landmark Education’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program in 2003 to help alleviate hunger in Rhode Island’s East Bay is still going strong – this past weekend, from Thursday through Sunday, the 9th ‘Sing Out Against Hunger’ (SOAH) musical fundraising event took place at Evelyn’s Drive-In and Coastal Roasters. A total of 35 performers took part in this year’s event – all told, over $76,000 has been raised for local food banks since the events began.

The performances raise money through raffles, silent auctions and direct donations – to contribute, visit SOAH’s website.
