Lobbying for a Lunch Hour

The project that Keiron Vital undertook in Landmark Education’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program is to support ‘Our Lunchtime’ a campaign to lengthen the lunch period time in schools across the United Kingdom, from its current length of 25 minutes to one hour. Vital and other experts contend that 25 minutes is not enough time for children to properly eat and digest their food, and that short lunch times increase stress on the students. Vital’s Project leader Sophia Goddard, who is also a psychologist, appeared recently on BBC radio to make the case for the hour lunch break. Here is a short video in support of the campaign.
