Some of Los Angeles’ top dance professionals are coming together on Sunday, January 20th, to lead ‘Desire to Inspire’, a dance workshop for underprivileged girls. According to Amelia Lynch, who created the workshop as her project in Landmark Education’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program, the aim is to create a safe place for girls in Los Angeles to express themselves through dance.
The workshop will be run by industry veterans who have worked for artists such as Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Prince and Justin Bieber. In addition to dance instruction, the workshop will include a panel discussion about the benefits of dancing and what dancing has helped women overcome.
The event is taking place at VAPA Visual and Performing Arts High School in downtown Los Angeles, from 9:30am – 4:00pm. More details can be found at the Desire to Inspire Facebook page.
