Born with it! An Empowerment Workshop for Women and Girls

On Saturday, April 5, 2008, Tomiko Fraser and her organization,The Goddess Gathering, held its first empowerment workshop called "Born With It". The workshop brought together a diverse group of women and girls for a day-long event which included: workshops and panel discussions addressing various issues important to women, an "Empowerment" show, as well as featured vendors who provided information for the attendees.

The attendees were from two Los Angeles-based organizations, "A Place Called Home" and "The HerShe Group".

The Goddesses volunteered their time and facilitated the various workshops, as well as helped out during the course of the day. The workshops included, "Health/Beauty/Body Image", "Confidence Building/Self-Esteem Techniques", "Goal Setting/Financial Freedom", and "Spirituality & Well-Being".

The ladies created Vision Boards, and received Empowerment Certificates at the end of the day.

Featured guest speakers shared their empowerment stories and offered advice to the ladies.

Maybelline New York donated products for the makeovers, raffle and goodie bags.

The attendees were honored with an "Empowerment" show where they were featured wearing a positive attribute that they exhibited.

It was a beautifully empowering day for everyone! The Goddesses were amazing!
