Beverly Hills Wine Festival Honors Vin Scully; Benefits ‘Cancer Schmancer’

Alan Semsar leads Landmark Education’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program in Los Angeles, and his latest community project in that program was the Beverly Hills Wine Festival, which took place on February 27 at the Hyatt Regency hotel. The event, which was attended by about a thousand people and which featured tastings of many of the world’s best wines and champagnes, honored famed Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully, with a lifetime achievement award presented by the mayor. Proceeds went to Fran Drescher’s Cancer Schmancer organization, which causes early cancer detection through education and advocacy.

Out of his participation in the Self-Expression and Leadership Program years ago, Semsar, who runs his own marketing company, created gala events for clients, family and friends, which became huge charity fundraisers. In addition to creating the Beverly Hills Wine Festival, Semsar also started the LA Wine Festival and the Malibu Food and Wine Festival.

Specifically planned by Angela Kao, the Beverly Hills Wine Festival attracted 80 sponsors, including Tiffany & Co., Aston Martin, and Lamborghini of Beverly Hills. Read more
