‘Launch Pad’ Brings Sanitary Pads to Sierra Leone

Chantelle Baxter and Dave Dixon, the road to being social entrepreneurs began in Landmark’s Self-Expression and Leadership Program. Baxter’s project in the program had her travel to Sierra Leone to help build a primary school, which eventually led her to partner with Dixon to create One Girl, a project to economically empower women in Sierra Leone, Africa.

The most recent initiative of One Girl is ‘Launch Pad’, a project to get badly needed sanitary pads into the hands of young women. Baxter explains how the project came about below in this talk given as part of the TED talk talent search:
