Dr. Amy D. Waterman is a Full Professor and the Director of Patient Engagement, Diversity, and Education at the J.C. Walter Transplant Center and Houston Methodist Research Institute. She focuses on overcoming barriers to kidney transplantation and enhancing educational outreach.

Through her nonprofit Explore Transplant, she is transforming patient and provider education in transplantation on a global scale. Dr. Waterman’s work emphasizes informed decision-making, reducing racial disparities, and promoting living donation.
